Our story is one of simple, loving togetherness. One Chinese New Year not too long ago, after Mum had spent a week pouring her heart into preparing her signature buah keluak, ponteh and ngoh hiang, the boys and their ferocious appetites craved more. Mum lovingly replied, “Any more and you'll have to do it yourself!”
So Dad and Josh, being the intrepid chefs of the family, took on the challenge — and ended up cooking enough to feed an army! From this challenge, a strong father-and-son team was born.
With a little leap of faith, we started Spice Peranakan in a small corner shop in Bukit Timah. From these humble beginnings, we have strived to refine our service, while serving an enduring menu of authentic flavours.
We are grateful to have gained a following of happy, supportive customers. And, by God's grace, we have had to consider a bigger home to accommodate them and carry on what Spice Peranakan is all about: Great food and heart-felt service in a cosy setting. So, although our new home is modern on the outside, we will always be the same humble, traditional family who hopes to put a smile on your face and touch your heart with our food.
